Life of Homeless War Veterans

BEING a soldier is no walk in a park. It takes honor and bravery to run along with your country. As I was browsing on a short clip regarding war especially the Vietnam War, I can feel as though as I am sucked into their story. These brave soldiers gave up everything just to serve for their country while most of them believe that not all of them will come back in one piece or worse, die in the battlefield. From watching these short clips, I can’t relate on what had become to most of these war veteran. It doesn’t matter what war are we speaking of either it’s the Vietnam, Panama, Korean or any other war but my point is, almost all of these once so called hero now live their remaining life along the streets. Some of them blame their government and others prefer to turn the other cheek. Now these poor men are struggling each and every day just to stay alive. Heroes are not meant to be remembered but they are meant to go down in history. This is what these men are going through. They serve their country like a hero and now they just rot their way to an uncertain future. My question is, does war bring good or justice? If it brings good to the government and it people then why there are still an uncontrollable state of democracy? Why there are still people who neglect their surroundings, corruption, confusion and disruption. In that case war does not bring good but it’s only like trimming a rough edge. War itself does not give much different than not engaging one. Politicians are now just like wolf in sheep’s clothing waiting for the right moment to strike. What about justice? Take a long look at our society and ask yourself, is this justice? Justice is fairness, justice is equal, justice is blind and justice can be interpreted into so many definition but justice what I am talking about is justice on war. If there is justice then why do we kill? Is it a war philosophy saying 'its kill or be kill'. If justice is being served in war, then I'm sure no children or innocent people have to suffer. Women are rape instead of being look after, children are taught to be soldiers where instead they should be love and many lives are wasted under the gun and this is what justice brings to war. This merely tells us that war does not bring forth justice but only fear and death to the innocent eyes. Grown men don’t cry but they weep, but weeping can lead to tears. War is the same, no matter in what way we approach it, by nanotechnology, genome super soldiers, nuclear, bribery, espionage, conspiracy the definition won’t change the true meaning of war. Civilization don’t grow in a matter of second but it take years to build. For those who enjoy what war bring to them, it means more income, more power and the more you gain control the greed soon devour one’s heart. In the end it will all lead to a dark glimpse of the future. What will happen to the Young men and women who were engage in now modern warfare? Will they be forgotten just like their former veterans? The answer might not be with me but it’s all in god's hand. We are fighting our own self and yet why do we even bother fighting each other. These homeless war veteran don’t have any place to go nor anybody who the call family. The only families they take in are people who fought along during the war with them which unfortunately are also as homeless as they are. According to Veteran Affair (V.A.) of America they estimated 107,000 homeless war veterans. That’s only in America but what about in other country. I have a high respect for military, not just in my own country but for others as well. Wish that I am one of them but now I have second thought. One man can’t change what is already taken place. It takes miracle to change everything all over again. The only problem is that whether we can accept such people (War Veterans) or not into our society and as long as there are guns and money, there will be no freedom. These war veterans deserve much better life than this but all that we can do is watch and feel pity to them. I’m not a professional war critics but I’m just a guy who need to voice out my opinion. Soldiers are made to protect not to be destroyed, remember those soldiers are also people like you and me. Respect is earned and earning it is not that easy.
