Old man's beard

Don’t want to be an old man's beard
Always sad
Not spared
Don’t want to be an old man's beard
Hanging on to life so weird
With only love as a blissful shade

As winter snuggles
Life turns to brittle
Every step taken
Every promise’s broken
As summer shines
Smiles began to unwind
Tears soon resign
And a new chapter begins

Don’t want to be an old man’s beard
Always counting the beat
Waiting for the singing bird
Don’t want to be an old man’s beard
Wondering where my love at,
In the wide open crowd.

Here I will wait
Here I will sit
Waiting for your silhouette
Never wanting to move my feet
My love will wait
Just for us to unite
